Adobo Fest 2015

Last week I attended the Chicago 8th Year Adobo Fest 2015 which was held inside St. Paul Woods at Morton Grove IL.The event started early morning for a 5k Walk and Run, and since I woke up aroud 10 am, I was late. My almost 2 hour train and bus ride plus 25 mins walking to the woods got me there around 12 noon.  Oh I was so hungry as I headed directly to the Adobo tent....ooops I paid $10 to taste and vote, and here's my plate:

These are different adobo versions from Pinoys of Chicago, made of different meat, pork, chicken, , even sardines, cured pork.  I like last two on my plate but I voted for 2nd to the last. Why? because of the taste and preparation.

Though I didnt know anybody, I had so much fun in this event.  There were a live band, kids game, adult games too which I won a bag of rice in a bring me contest. Games like polvoron eating contest and pandesal as well. The grand finale of all is the Balut Eating Contest - the art of eating a balut.

I 'm glad I was able to experience this, I felt like I am in the Philippines again:)  I met nice people too like Mr. Jerry Clarito and his wife of AFIRE Chicago.

If you're abroad and you have the chance to attend Pinoy gatherings like this, I encourage you to try it!:)

He is the winner of the Best Adobo! I voted him also
